After every premiere, Toot Performance holds a Toot Suite event or offering.

For Toot Suite, Toot Performance commissions local artists to create short works based on artifacts (props, text, memories, etc.) from the Toot Performance show that most recently premiered. The aim of Toot Suite is to promote artistic experimentation, introduce communities to each other, and extend and refract Toot Performance’s work into new and exciting aesthetic expressions.

The second Toot Suite took place in October 2021. Thirteen artists took photos inspired by, and often featuring, vessels that were created by the performers during Tweezer Burn. These vessels were filled with re-formed detritus from unwanted visual art deconstructed during the performance. The Toot Suite photos were bundled and distributed in physical form by the participating artists, and posted online on Toot Performance’s Instagram.

This activity was made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

The first Toot Suite was held in November 2019 at Fresh Oysters Performance Research in Minneapolis. Seven artists and groups created pieces based on notebooks that audience members wrote in during the performances of Ploys for Ensemble Glitz and Crisis Actors.
